I'll leave well enough alone. I'm not much of those venturous types who has

That would be my impression, check out your power plan settings. You should
find it in there if you wish. Personally I would leave it alone in case you
end up replacing the battery. Earlier this year I had quite a time finding a
new battery for mine, eventually I did but it was not easy.

If a new battery is not in your future for certain then go ahead and disable
it.

Actually the fact is simply that your system is configured to display that
icon in your system tray and it will continue to do that until you disable
that particular setting.

In short you have to tell it to stop doing that or it will just keep on as
always.

In the sys-tray, it states...battery meter for my laptop.
Since the death of my battery early this year, I keep LP plugged in all
times, so why would this be showing??
