For your JAWS related problem try running a repair on JAWS. I guess the procedure depends on how you installed JAWS. Personally I install JAWS by downloading the latest version from FS. So if I need to run a repair I browse to the JAWS executable from the run dialog and when I have the full path in the run dialog I append: /type repair
