I was hoping there was a simplar way. She is not a very good computer user
so I hoped there might be a switch in one of the menu options. I'll help
her to reinstall if that is only option.

It is one of the options one checks or unchecks during installation.
Let her uninstall and reinstall Kurzweil, checking the relevant option.
Kurzweil's installation speaks and is very accessible, she just needs to
listen when to press enter, or escape at the relevant prompts during
installation.

My friend installed Kurtsweil on her XP, Jaws7 PC and at startup Kurtsweil
launches. How can she undo to start up when she boots up her desktop?
