I find invoking the ctl z command quicker as I don't have to tab back and
forth and arrow to different folders. Especially since it's just for a quick
review to make sure it wasn't something I wanted to read or to double check
that I read the subject line correctly. I do use the shift+ctl+v command to
save messages, but that's something else and I've never had problems with
Jaws going quiet or freezing up on me when using it.

Outlook

Never tried ctrl Z for that purpose. When I want to recover a deleted email,
I go to the deleted folder and either read it right there, or if I decide I
really wanted to keep it, I use ctrl shift V to move it back to the in-box
on another folder for permanent storage.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Issue with Jaws and undoing a delete action in Outlook

Hello list,

So I had been meaning to write about this for a while as I wonder if others
experience this same issue with Jaws.

When I’m in the inbox list box for an email account in Outlook and am going
through the various messages, I sometimes delete an email I wasn’t sure I
wanted to delete. Being subscribed to many mailing lists and whatnot, my
inbox fills up very quickly and especially in the morning for example, I
blaze through all the emails and threads that are of no interest to me.

Like I said, when doing this, I will sometimes go a bit too fast and delete
a message that I maybe wanted to read or wasn’t sure if I heard the subject
line correctly. In these instances, it’s easy enough to press the control z
command and the message will reappear. This is with a pop3 account
configuration by the way. When I press the control z command, the message
will often enough pop back up without an interruption and I can continue my
cleaning out of my mailbox. There are times however, when invoking the undo
command that Jaws will go silent for a while, my system will get a bit
sluggish and jaws will sometimes outright crash.

There is no rhyme or reason to which emails I wish to recover that trigger
this Jaws behavior. It can be a standalone message, a reply to someone
else’s inquiry, etc.

Do others in fact deal with this problem and is there a way to fix this? I
have experienced this issue with prior versions of Jaws (I’m using the most
recent release on a 64 bit Win7 laptop) In both Outlook 2003 and 2010 and on
other computers.

Thanks,
