It's no more of a target than any other cloud based system. There are many other file sharing and storage companies, including ones which cost money, and free ones. I've used Drop Box for a number of years with no issues, but then I also keep my virus software up to date.

You may have had trouble with your EOS device, but the files are stored in the cloud. I access my folders from about four different computers. Now, if you for some reason are not on the internet, and sinked with Drop Box, then changes you make on that local machine will not update to the cloud. Perhaps that was your issue, I don't know.
