Hi Susan,
I hook up my extra laptop to my stereo from the ear jack to the auxillary
input.
I run my Itunes player and work with jaws in stereo, It sounds like Barry
White is the new Jaws voice.
Just need the right wire with the male adapter on both endsand radio Shack
has them in any length, I'm not sure if the size adapter is a number 2.
I hope this help.
Jorge

Jose,
I only have one soundcard so couldn't understand what the problem was. It
turns out to be a relatively simple fix which seems to have something to do
with the configuration of this case rather than the properties of the
soundcard. With a bit of experimentation, my son found that I could/should
keep speakers plugged into the rear audio jack and reserve the front jack
for headphone use rather than attempting to plug speakers into the front.
When I connect or disconnect phones windows obligingly provides me with a
status message, but in any case I don't have to mess with soundcard
properties. I'm not sure if this is a configuration unique to my system and
may not have explained the solution very well, but offer this as an option
to anyone else if this should unexpectedly happen to them. I'd be curious as
to whether anyone else has seen this and can explain why the jacks might not
be created equal. hth.
Susan

HI Susan, I want to make shore I understand what's going on. Are you saying
that you can get windows sounds, and jaws, but not if you plug in the
speekers? if your using more then 1 sound card it would be possable for jaws
to go threw 1 sound card, while windows sounds go threw the other.
As for your hubby, well, you could just keep asking him to fix it over and
over, and maybe he will ither fix it for good, or simply explaine to you how
he did it so you will stop bugging him.
if that don't work, try blackmail. LOL! smiley, just kidding.

Hi listers,
i apologize for the novice question, but have reached the end of my
admittedly limited patience.
Quite simply, I'm running JAWS 12 on a Windows 7 system with a
Realtech HD soundcard. With my previous SB Live card in XP it was a
simple matter of plug and play to swap between headphones and speakers
but this does not seem to be the case now. While I generally work with
headphones, there are times when I wish to switch to speaker
configuration and would like instructions on how to do this. My
sighted husband is available in case of major disasters, but his usual
approach is to disable JAWS while stumbling toward whatever solution
and he is not particularly good at explaining his steps so that I can
learn them. In this situation he had configured the speakers
temporarily, but at reboot I was unable to bring up anything but
system sounds via speakers, though again headphones worked fine. I've
attempted to look around the audio manager and speakers dialogues but
still seem to be missing something, so step by step help would be
best. Many thanks.
Susan
