They are somewhat different. CCleaner is a registry cleaner, as well as
having other optimizing tools. If you don't know what you're doing, you can
cause some problems, but it is a good maintenance tool in the right hands,
or at least used with an ounce of caution.
MalwareBytes is a malware cleaning tool, and the paid version provides
active protection while the free version just manually scans for spyware and
malware.
