You will need to use the laptop's Fn key with the capslock to activate JAWS commands, until you make such change as i have outlined in this thread.

But caps. j will not run for example jaws menu, caps. f12 will not tell you

You can assign the Insert key, If you selected to use the desktop
configuration.
And if you select the laptop configuration then it would be the caps lock
key.
I believe this is correct and where can you find the menu to switch back
and
forth?

I am running windows on Mac notebook.
But one problem is, how to simulate ins. key, which isn't there?
I know, how to simulate page up/down, home/end, it is fn and arrow keys,
but insert isn't there.
