No, I can access it on this computer that I'm on which is running Ie8 since
it is an XP box.

No, I don't think that it is a DNS issue because I can access all of the
other options on the Google home page just fine. Perhaps IE 8 and older
versions of Firefox no longer support Google Shopping. However, although
I can't access the Google Shopping page directly, I discovered that if I
type the name and model number of a product into the regular search field
on the Google home page using IE 8, the first result on the results page
is a link to Google Shopping for that product, which I can load
successfully without any trouble. Perhaps Google modified the way the
shopping site works, at least for IE 8. Actually, I find this new
arrangement easier to use than the stand-alone Google Shopping page which
I can no longer access.

Gerald,
I just accessed it and performed a search. Maybe you are having a DNS
issue.

Not true. I tried accessing Google Shopping with Firefox 18, and
although I did not get any error message, I could still not load it.
All I got was the Google home page with a bunch of shopping ads
underneath, but no edit field to enter the item I am shopping for, only
the normal search edit field. This certainly has not been going on for a
year because I had absolutely no trouble accessing Google Shopping last
week. So I challenge somebody on this list to access the site below
using IE 9 or higher or Firefox latest version and report the results:

It has been going on for a year. They don't really support ie8. You
can ignore the problem and still shop there or use firefox.

Terrific. I wonder whether this is a temporary problem or whether
Google has discontinued its shopping service like it recently
discontinued the Google Reader service. I know that there are other
shopping sites that are JAWS accessible like Pricegrabbers.com and
Nexttag.com, but I find the Google Shopping the easiest one to use
with JAWS.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Strange Error Message When Accessing Google
Shopping
Hi listers. I just tried to access the Google Shopping page from the
Google home page using IE 8 with JAWS 9 and XP and got the following
error message:
Message from webpage graphic 412
ERROR: Possible problem with your *.gwt.xml module file.graphic 132
The compile time user.agent value (gecko1_8) does not match the
runtime user.agent
value (unknown). Expect more
errors.
Does anyone know what this error means? I also tried Google Maps
from the home page, and was able to load it successfully without any
problem, so I'm wondering whether this problem is limited to the
Google Shopping page, the direct address for which is below. Thanks
for any feedback.
