Hi Mike. I have now got it resolved. It appears that Jaws was set to Read
All. I changed it to Highlighted and that has solved the problem. I know a
few years ago I had a similar problem but solved it somewhere in the view
menue. That was with Jaws 9 or 10 though. I never thought of trying what
you did and frankly I don't know how to do so. Walter.

Hi Walter,

I had pretty much the same thing happen as yourself, & did what you've done
but, when you were in the view menu / details making changes did you tab to
the okay button & press enter? Also, what I'm about to say may sound crazy
as hell but, I'll swear on a stack of old Jaws CD's this happened, whether
it was coincidental or not who knows! Just for the hell of it I went &
checked my screen resolution to make sure it had not changed. It read, 1360

× 768, & the orientation said, landscape, so I tabbed to, okay, & pressed
the spacebar. Well, after doing this, Jaws stopped reading all that
excessive crap when in a list of files / folders. HTH
Take care.
Mike

Hi all. I've just moved from Jaws 14 to 15. Now in folders , in explorer I
find the file names are being repeated. Jaws will say the file name but
then will repeat it and give information such as the genre, contributing
artist, the date modified etc, the same info there is on the tags. I don't
want this to happen but I can't remember how to stop it. I have done some
changing in folder options and the view menu/change details but it persists.
This happens when I scrole down or up with the up or down arrow. If I do a
read the line command I only get the file name, which is all the info I
want. Can someone please remind me of how I get Jaws to just read the file
name. I'm not sure if this is a windows thing (I think it is) or if it is
Jaws at fault. With thanks. Walter.
