I modified the previous set of instructions I sent to exactly show you how to customize an action using jaws
customize action sounds in windows 7

the windows startup sound can only be changed by modifying the dll file. it is not a good idea to modify dll files.
to add your own sounds
the sounds must be in wav format in order to be a windows system sound
open computer
select windows
from windows select media and open it
in order to copy to this folder you must have administrator permission
press shift+enter to turn off administrator temporarily
paste your sounds

1. open control panels
2. select sound link
3. once in sound, ctrl+tab twice until you get to sounds
4. tab to preview (these are all the windows actions)
5. arrow up and down through the list of windows actions, select a specified action 6. tab twice to the list of sounds available, and select the sound you desire for the specified action,
7. then tab once and you can preview the sound

now windows actions can have the sound you want

Subject: [JAWS-Users] adding a sound to incoming email in outlook 2010

I downloaded and installed the file sounds.exe and I have several sound
alerts now for MS word, Outlook and excel in MS office 2010. However, I
don't get an alert sound for incoming emails. Is there away to have sounds
for that part of outlook 2010?
