Jim,

As Janie pointed out correctly, in order to Toggle the synthesizer to mute in
order
to silence JAWS speech, use the following command:
Press JAWS key + SpaceBar, and then the letter S by itself.
Where the JAWS key is INSERT while in JAWS Desktop Keyboard Layout or when in
JAWS
Laptop Keyboard Layout, you can use either CapsLock or INSERT for the JAWS key.

Regards,
Eric Damery

Hi. That doesn't work for me, either on 13, 14 and now 15. I've had to creat
my
own hot key,in this case the Screenshot key. Walter.

I am having a senior moment here. I want to use total recorder, and I forgot

the
key combination to turn speech on and off. I am running jaws 15, on a windows 7
home premium 64 bit machine. Jim
