Hi I have found that it is ok to copy most of the settings files from one release of JAWS to another. The one settings file I would not copy is Default.jcf. There could be different settings depending on the version of Windows, the version of JAWS and maybe 32 bit to 64 bit. You can use Merge the Settings to set your defaults to what they were before, but I have seen that this does not copy all the settings from the old version. What I do is copy everything but Default.jcf and then go to Settings Center to edit the Default that was created when JAWS was installed.
