You are probably right. Now, how is this paid version different from the
free version?
   Does the paid version work well with JAWS, perhaps 12 for example? Hate
to fix something that isn't broken but this alert is about to drive a sane
person nutty...

I don't think so.  I solved that problem by getting the paid professional
version.  You can put it onto 2 computers, and there is no fee to ever
upgrade.  It is a one time license charge.  Well worth the price.  HTH.
