I think the subject first order is the default sort after date. In the top line View menu there is an option "From". Click on "From" and your emails should show the sender first.

I confess to not having tried to re-order my emails by sender, but I did successfully move newest emails to the top by clicking on "Descending"..so I know the sorter works.

All else failing, maybe the FAQ's and Help can resolve your issue.

Hi all,
In Thunderbird all of a sudden when my email come in they are showing the subject line before the senders name.
for example:
email Anna Vimini
instead of Anna Vimini email
I would like them to show the senders name first instead of the subject line first.
I tried to get them to come in the way I want them to with no success
so could someone using Thunderbird please tell me how to do it?
I know someone did tell me earlier today and I tried their suggestion but it did not work.
So I need complete instructions on How to do it?
thanks in advance
