Hi Richard,
You do not actually change the name of the router, you are just changing the
SSID.
The SSID, or, service set identifier, is how your wireless network
is broadcast, so you know which network you are attempting to connect to.
You have to access the router interface to make those settings changes
with a user name and password, which are commonly found on the bottom of the
router.
Once you have gained access you can find these settings under Wireless
Settings.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Tomorrow's another day, another way!
and if tomorrow never comes, problem solved!

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Router question

Hi all,

How do you change the name of your router?

I have a wireless router from AT&T.

I was told as a security measure that changing the name of the router is a
good idea.

Thanks

Rich
