Hi All, Okay here we go. This is how I get the direct download links & downloads from Freedom Scientific running XP Pro.
Note: Please read all the steps & information below the steps before proceeding. 1. Go to: http://www.freedomscientific.com/ 2. Press your links list keystroke, Insert / Jaws Key + F7, press the letter, D, until you land on, Downloads, & press, enter. 3. Press the links list keystroke again, press the letter, J, until you land on Jaws for Windows Screen-Reading software, & press enter. 4. Now, navigate by Headings by pressing the letter, H, until you land on, Current English Release of JAWS. 5. Arrow down & you will find the FTP download links. Press enter on the desired link & a download dialogue will come up & you'll be on the cancel button. Tab to, save, press the spacebar, again tab to save & press the spacebar or, when on the cancel button, you can press the keystroke, Alt + S, 2 times & the download will start. The download will download to wherever your default downloads are assigned to go. Personal Note: I always use the HTTP download option instead so, if you arrow down passed the FTP link you will find the following: Note: If your corporate firewall prevents you from downloading files using FTP (File Transfer Protocol), use the HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) links. So, when you're on the line that says: Link, HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) links Press enter & you'll go to another download page. 6. Arrow down to, Heading Level 3JAWS 15 Current English Downloads, & the download links are right below this heading. Arrow to the desired link & press enter & you will get the same download dialogue as in step #5. Follow the same steps to save & download. It's recommended that you read the below before proceeding with the steps above: JAWS 15 Downloads Use the links on this page to download the latest version of JAWS that is appropriate for your computer's operating system. Read Me First JAWS requires that you restart your computer during the installation process. To avoid problems, always download the JAWS release to your computer first instead of running the executable from the Windows Download dialog box. The following briefly describes how to download and install a JAWS release. list of 3 items 1. Select the appropriate domestic or international JAWS download link that appears on this page. 2. When the dialog box opens, choose Save and select a location where you can easily find the downloaded executable file. 3. Run the executable and follow the talking installer. list end During JAWS installation, the OCR engine for Convenient OCR is automatically downloaded and installed. If you will be installing JAWS on a computer that does not have Internet access and you wish to use the Convenient OCR feature, you will also need to choose the link to download the OCR engine. Place this file in the same location as the executable before beginning the installation. For those that complained about me sending the direct download links to the list, it's as easy to press the delete key as it is to press the enter key to open / read the message! I will continue to send the direct download links to the list because many more people find them convenient that those of you that are appalled by them! LOL, hahaha hahaha hahaha, LOL HTH Take care.
