Hi Mike,

I'm in a Dilemma over this Classic View situation, on my Del tower, with Win7; as 5 weeks ago, my PC had a virus, so the VA, contracted Tech Assist company had my tower in for that repair/correction, and at the same time, I asked that they activate the Classic View function; consequently, I have absolutely No prior idea what Theme my Del was previously set to. Therefore, I shall have to give the Tech Rep a call, and ask her to do a remote reset, should she remember what selection it was on, since she activated Classic View as per my request. I do not want to complicate matters, by making a random choice of what this Del tower was set on, before it was put on Classic View.

Thanks for your straight forward honesty and concern about making an accurate reset, and that is greatly appreciated, as I may not had thought about that when trying to decide on which selection to reset with. I would strongly recommend that people are fore warned about remembering what the original setting was prior to changing to Classic View, in the event they are not content with it.

Sincere Respect of your tech guidance,

Dooie

Hi Dooie,

Do you remember what theme you were using? I hope so because, I don't know which theme is the default! The steps are below to find a theme & select.

1. While on the desktop press, control + spacebar, to make sure that nothing
is selected.
2. Open the context menu with the applications key or, shift + F10, arrow
down to Personalize & press enter.
3. You will now be in the Themes Gallery. here the different themes are in columns & rows so, you'll have to navigate using your arrow keys & when you find the theme you want , press enter & give your system some time to make
the changes.
Also, changing themes will probably change your Sound Schemes as well. So, you might have to alter your sound schemes to get the sounds you want.

Take care.
Mike

provide a method to follow to turn Classic View off?

Thanks for any & all assistance.

Hi Trish,

I always have to alt + tab back to the desktop after closing programs even
though my desktop theme is set on Windows Classic.

To check & see if you're using the classic desktop theme do the following:

1. While on the desktop press the F5 key to make sure that nothing is
selected.
2. Press the applications key, arrow down to Personalize & press enter. Listen to Jaws & it will report which theme is running. If it's not Windows

Classic then continue with the rest of the steps.
3. You will now be in the Themes Gallery. here the different themes are in

columns. To find the Windows Classic Theme, arrow down to Windows7 Basic, & right arrow 1 time to Windows Classic & press enter. Wait a little while for the system to make the changes. You might hear a sound when it's done.

Also, changing themes will probably change your Sound Schemes as well. So,

you might have to alter your sound schemes to get the sounds you want.

Take care.

I need to know why on my desktop, when I alt tab around, I do not get
desktop?

This is even after I've already opened something and closed it, it does not

go back to desktop. This does not occur on the laptop, so wondering why it
is this way on a desktop?

Both are running windows 7, if there's something I can do, please advise.

Thanks,

Trish
