You might want to go offline while doing some maintenance tasks on your
computer, to prevent anything new from coming in and possibly causing
interference to the process. netwoks also can malfunction for mechanical
reasons or any other.

I have a netbook and very frequently when I preform the shortcut keys
very fast I will accedently hit the offline button, is there a way to
disable that button? I really don’t see why there is a feature to turn
off your network.
