Hi Al,

You're correct. When you go to copy / cut to the clipboard after appending
to it you'll get a warning dialogue asking if you want to overwrite the
contents of the clipboard & you have to choose yes to continue. HTH
Take care.
Mike

Trish,

No, as soon as you paste something to it what was there is replaced.
Now , if you append to the clipboard it keeps adding up but then I
believe if you simply copy to it again it is erased. Maybe someone
will correct me if I'm wrong

Al

Just curious as to all the interest in clearing the clipboard? If
one
copies something to it whatever was there gets erased. So, am
curious
as to why the need to clear the clipboard before putting something
on
  it?

Here is the command line from the shortcut I previously mentioned.
  Just copy
and paste it in the run dialog box.

  %windir%\System32\cmd.exe /c echo off | clip

  That's it boys and girls.

  Interesting, my system can't locate

  clipbrd

either. I seem to remember this from years ago.

No matter the shortcut for clearing the clip board is on the tips
and
  tricks
page now for well over a year.
