I have a 128 GB SSD that came with 2 partitions. The primary C one is about 95 GB and the other is approximately 23 GB or so. I have deleted the small partition and so now have that space available. Using Partition assistant I can resize C to about 119 GB but following the operation the drive will not boot. I have a second bootable drive for this Win7 machine and so boot from that so I can use JAWS to perform the necessary expansion on what normally is the primary C drive. I simply connect that to the machine through a USB port. This way I have speech throughout the process. I believe you can do it with C drive running but operation won't be done until the next boot up and then you have no idea of how long or where the process is as it is being done prior to Window's booting thus giving speech through JAWS. I've done this twice with same results. Partition assistant says the operations was completed successfully, but when I hook the drive back up to boot from it the boot portion must get corrupted as Windows says it cannot find a boot device. As soon as I put the image back on it it is fine. I have even tried putting that image on a spare drive and carry out the resize but get same result. Partition assistant claims you can resize the primary boot drive but I can't seem to do it.
