Were you hearing other sounds on your computer when JAWS was muted? Do
you have a laptop, LogiTech or other wireless, or a multimedia, keyboard
which would have extra keys (including one for muting and unmuting
sound) that might have been activated? Best thing would've been to ask
him how he successfully unmuted JAWS.

I received help with a task from my sighted computer person today and
as the
task was being completed, Jaws went silent. He couldn't help with this
remotely, apparently, and when I rebooted, Jaws did not start. He
actually
came to my house and started Jaws in about 2 seconds. When I asked
what the
problem was, he said that Jaws had been muted. He didnd't seem to know
what
I could have done on my own to start it. In this case, would insert,
space
bar, and S have worked Or is there something else I could have done?
