Hello,

Open your program's JAWS Settings Center with JAWSKEY+6, and in the editfield type detect . There will be about two results. Uncheck the checkbox for 'detect languages'. It isn't so much that the person is writing in a foreign language but that JAWS, detecting a different country's html which gives their email composition foreign language elements, thinks that they may be.

This check box allows you to enable or disable automatic language detection. If you select this check box, JAWS attempts to identify the language of the current word and then reads it using the appropriate synthesizer voice for that language. If you clear this check box, JAWS does not change the voice of the synthesizer when reading text written in another language. This check box is selected by default.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] jaws speaks foreign language

Hello:

A very strange thing is happening when my friend sends me an email with his i-phone. Some of the words jaws speaks are in a foreign language while other words are in the usual english. It is a mixture all in the same message. Other people send me messages with their i-phone but nothing comes in foreign language. Anyone know anything about this?
