What was the message you were given? As an alternative you might consider using Nod32 which will run on Windows XP for the next couple of years: http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3507
At this point, I suggest considering the costs that will go into contininuing to use Windows XP and maybe redirect those expenses to a new Windows7 or Windows 8 computer. When you are ready to make a purchase I will go out of my way to hunt down a good deal for you--you need only ask. <Smile> Feel free to write me off-list for free help with absolutely any computer related problem! Do not run more than a single anti virus utility, but you can also run it with Malwarebytes Pro. Download MSE: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download You will also want to begin using a browser which is updated regularly such as Firefox as I don't believe Internet Explorer 8 on wnx will be updated from now on. You should also consider running your Windows XP computer using a limited user account because it won't have any access to files directly associated with important operating system files. I have never used window defender before, Thanks for any suggestions.
