Thanks for your response.  Before when I got into the list of optional
updates by doing a check for update, Neither the applications key nor shift
f10 did anything.  But I discovered that while in the main Windows update
page, if you tab to the list box whose first item is Windows update
settings, you can arrow down to hide or unhide updates and press enter.  In
the list of optional updates that this brings up, the applications key
worked fine to hide an update.

I just tried with the optional updates,
so enter on,
optional updates links it could be 5, 4, or, what ever the number, pick one
to hide, press the applications key, you will find the hide.

same as windows 7.

Hi

Using JAWS 15, how do you hide a Windows update you don't want to install in
Windows 8.1?  In Windows 7 and earlier, you just opened the update
description and checked don't show me this update again.  But when I go to
the update's description in Windows 8.1, I don't see anything to do this.
