When you install Office, or buy a PC that has it installed, all of the
office programs are installed, but you can only use the ones that are
included in the version of Office that you bought. You can unlock the
others by upgrading your version of Office.

Ok, this is why Outlook is looking for a separate registration #. With
the student edition, you only get Word, Excel, and maybe a couple more
but I know Outlook is not included. It will allow you to install but you
need to purchase a registration # from Microsoft. Probably will cost you
at least $100
