Ok. Try this. In Windows Explorer choose View with alt-v. Then arrow up to
sort-by submenu. Right-arrow into it. Look for DescenDescending and press
enter to check

I have a weird problem where the filenames in the open dialog for
notepad
are in descending order, for example if I press the end key, the file
is
aardvark.txt and if I press the home key, the filename is zodiac.txt.

can't find how to put the order back to ascending order. I tried
Googling
the problem but I get everything but the solution. can someone help
please?
