Hello Mario,

When in the open Dialog box use tab key until you find where headers are
shown.  When you find the headers use right or left arrow key until you find
the Name header and press spacebar.  This should reverse the order according
to name.  In Windows 8.1 the headers are found between the file list view
and the file name.  I think that is the same for Windows 7.

the problem is not in windows explorer, the filenames in the my
documents\notepad folder (I try to be organized) are sorted correctly. the
problem is the filenames in the file list of the open file dialog are sorted
in descending order. I don't know when or how it happened, but I want them
the way they used to be, in ascending order.

Ok. Try this. In Windows Explorer choose View with alt-v. Then arrow up to
sort-by submenu. Right-arrow into it. Look for DescenDescending and press
enter to check
