Hi Ann & Rick,

Changing the folder names to blah blah.txt would not allow me to delete
them. Rick, I can't seem to get to the end of the app data path, for
whatever reason. It's crazy!

Take care.
Mike

Hi Mike,
I ran into this quite some time ago, but I got the error from my XP system.
Since these are on your backup drive, I take it replicator put them there?
If you were to follow the path on the backup drive,, I think you might find
that "App Data", is replicated many times
In other words, if you open "App Data", you may find another one in there
etc.
In my case, since XP gave me the error, when trying to delete, I believe
that I ended up connecting the drive directly to the Win7 machine, where the
folders started out in the first place, and was able to delete them.
This is why I don't backup the "App Data folder on Win7.
You may have to try and get all the way to the end of the path, and start
working backwards deleting each one at the end of the path.
I don't know of any dos commands that would get it done, since there too many
characters in the path, which is probably why Windows is rejecting it.
Is the backup drive formatted as NTFS, or Fat32?
HTH,
Rick Justice

Tomorrow's another day, another way!
and if tomorrow never comes, problem solved!

Subject: [JAWS-Users] How Do I Delete This Folder

Hi All,

I'm trying to delete a particular folder & sub-folder from my backup drive
but, I can't! I keep getting the following message:

Source Path Too Long
The source file name(s) are larger than is supported by the file system. Try
moving to a location which has a shorter path name, or try renaming to
shorter name(s) before attempting this operation.
11.0
Date created: 6/11/2014 6:54 AM

Do this for all current items (5 found)

How do I change the source path / file name so I can delete these folders?
The current paths are:

"L:\Users Mike"

"L:\Users Mike\AppData"

Thsize of the folders are 0.0 bytes if, this helps. I don't know how to
make these file paths any shorter!

I'm running Win7 Pro 64 Bit & J15 latest. All help will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks much.

Take care.
Mike
