Hi Jim, See if any of the 5 or 6 notes below will Help:
To navigate ribbons more efficiently the ribbons need to be maximized. The keystroke is, control + F1. This keystroke is a toggle so, this keystroke will maximize & minimize. To check if the ribbons are minimized / maximized do the following: 1. Press the, Alt key, to open the ribbons. 2. Open the context menu with either the application key or, shift + F10. 3. Arrow up or down to the, Minimize, option. If, Minimize, is checked, the ribbons are minimized Pressing, enter, on this checkbox, will uncheck it & close the context menu & your menues will now be maximized. From: Marla Bernbaum To change margins settings: altP, then sp This takes you to the margins settings dialog Marla From: michael grove I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the ribbons on window seven. The first thing you should know is that all of the shortcut keys that you are used to using will still work. The second thing is that you should go into your jaws startup wizard and check the box to enable virtual ribbons. This will let you navigate a lot closer to the way you are used to doing. The only other thing is to let you know that you have to tab through the ribbon sometimes and arrow the rest of the time. The good news is that you can get used to them with just a little practice. They are going to be around for along time and become used with a lot more programs in the future, so you will have to learn to adjust. Hope this helps you. Mike Michael From: Farfar, Good Old Farfar Alt+p, then right arrow twice, then down arrow once, then spacebar. But you're still using the ribbon. Something you'll eventually get used to. Hardest part is figuring out where to look for things you used to find all the time. Dave Carlson From: Tom Lange Hi, Try alt+p, followed by M. That oughta do it. Tom From: Ann Byrne Check this out. http://www.lboro.ac.uk/it/access/word2007-key-tips.html Remember that if you are using the JAWS virtual ribbon, the tips don't work. Ann HTH Take care. I have a friend who is taking a class at Braille institute and he just called me and asked me this. How do you get in to the margin area while in word? He needs to know how to set margins. Apparently there is a command to use to do this, and I don't know it. we are both using W7 and jaws 15. Thanks for your help.
