Yeah, there are some twenty-two sites that research-it works with. Occasionally, something gets re-designed and the feature may not work well with that site.

It really bothers me when people say that FS is worthless because some of the research-it features don't work. Websites get re-designed all the time; and sometimes, they break what used to work.

I find the Research-It feature to be a convenience, but the world doesn't end if one of the links fails. No other screen reader offers this as a feature.

Frankly, I'd rather F.S. focus on other performance issues with Jaws; if they fix the occasional issue with research-it, fine and dandy, but it shouldn't be a big focus that draws or detracts from squashing bugs, making Jaws run more smoothly, and adding some new features. I can still get the weather, look up a baseball or football score or get the latest share price by going to the appropriate website myself.

So, maintain it if possible, but focus on some valuable features and improving performance of Jaws. For example, I've used convenient OCR countless times to get me out of a crack, and I'd much rather have that capability than research-it.

What happens here is that a website will change the way it works and FS does
not change their software to reflect the change in the page.

Weather has not worked for me either in probably about eight to ten weeks.
I tried at home on two different computers and at work and no-go, tells me
Scottsdale or 85257 cannot be found when earlier in the year it worked just
fine with 85257 entered into the search box.

It is almost the only thing I used Research it for so I am very
disappointed.

hi:
I've had the same results for weather also.
contacted FS and they told me they had no problem and to try again in a few
hours.
it works sporadically for me.
hopefully someone at FS can reproduce the fault and fix it in an upcoming
update if time permits before the rollout of jaws 16.

Weather for me has been everything but useless for the past siz weeks
or so.
I think I've maybe been able to get it to work twice. I wrote FS about
it and while they were able to access weather results, it's still a no
go on my end. It may be as they said problems on the Internet side of
things as Research It relies on other services/websites to function.
