if someone has already said this, just ignore :
it's not necessary to press shift+down arrow after pressing alt+d. the address 
should already be selected since it is read.

Try:
When, you are in the open link.
Press the Alt + D, then shift + down arrow to select.
Then control + C to copy.

If you tab to the link you want to copy and then press your applications 
key, you can arrow down to, copy shortcut and press enter.  This will put 
the link in the clipboard.  Now just paste it where you  want it.
