Hi Roger, Can you send me this, enabling audio in safe mode registry file? I would like to save it to my computer and HD for future use. I'm not a tech, but I thought safe mode is used when your computer or OS has a problem, not to run antivirus Take care, Jorge -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of raaju Sent: Thursday, August 14, 2014 9:43 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] need screen layout information to enter into safemode using windows 7 home premium Hello, though I don't have much knowledge to computer technology, but what I've gather and implementing on my computer as well, in order to enable screen reader in safe mode, you first need to enable audio driver in safe mode. But again due to inavailability of display driver, jaws can't be run as expected. It may prompt you about the error about mirror display driver or video intersept manager. So in such case NVDA will be the best screen reader for such work. And if you couldn't turn your computer on in safe mode, just do small changes in ms config in safe boot manager, now you'll be automatically be taken in to safe mode once your computer is restart. And there is a small registry file which makes your audio driver enable in safe mode so that you can work without sighted help. Please feel free to live a message if you need this enabling audio in safe mode registry file. When, the safe mode screen pops up jaws is not working at this time. Jaws will only start up on a regular start up, not on safe mode. If, it did not work, do it again. The options I use was install and repair windows. Try running the computer in safe mode. Question??? Why can't you run your antivirus at a regular start up? Somebody can add more info to this post. I use jaws 11 but I understand that Jaws interferes with actions taken in Safe Mode so what do I need to do with my Jaws 11 program in this instance? Part two of safe mode question: What screen information does my untrained sighted helper has to look for, (while we are repeatedly pressing the function 8 key after having restarted the computer), which will tell us when we have arrived at the correct screen layout to appear to prepare us to go into safe mode? Any help would be appreciated.
