It is a Jaws command.
If you want to write other symbols, you turn the numpad on, hold down the
alt key and write the msdos symbol on the numeric pad. For example:
Degrees alt and 176, Plus-or-Minus alt and 177; copyright alt and 169,
Registration alt and 174; trademark alt and 153.
You can find a list of alt codes by doing a search on Google; there are
codes for suits, different types of bullets and daggers, fractions and other
trigonemetric symbols.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Writing symbols
Hello-
I am taking a class in Spanish. When I type Spanish word that have an
accent mark I use the keyboard command, Insert+4 on the number row and I
get
a list of most of the marks I need. My question is; is the Insert+4
command
a JAWS command or a Windows command?
Thanks in advance,
Wayne
