One is not supposed to needd the FS braille drivers that Focus uses since they are included in the latest JAWS versions. (JAWS now automatically detects FS Braille displays when they're connected.) I wonder if there's an imcompatibility between the Gateway and the Focus FS braille driver at least? ? (Could be one for FS to deal with.) have you any other computer you can connect the Focus to? Try a differrent USB port? Also look in the Braille Options and see what it says. You may need to add the focus and make it your default braille display. Is your focus a blue or not a Blue? (If it is, with bluetooth enabled in JAWS Braille Options Settings it can now be detected automatically by JAWS.)

Or, it may be that a complete reinstall of JAWS will fix the issue!

I have not used my focus 40 display on my gateway laptop. It worked
fine on the HP laptop. But, now I have the Gateway. So, I thought I
would give it a try. The braille display keys work but the Braille
display cells do not. All the ppins stay in the full cell position. I
initially got an error message stating the driver was not installed
successfully. But after disconnecting and reconnecting several times
the pins still don't work correctly. I didn't get any messages just the windows 7 sound when you connect and disconnect the USB cable. I don't recall but do I need to download additional drivers to make the focus
work properly?
