I don't know if this will solve your problem. It may not, but you might try this:
To Select a block of text. 1. put your focus in front of where you want to copy and press control windows k. This will put a temporary place marker at that place. 2. then go to the end of where you want to copy and press a cap lock space bar and press m. 3.
