Hi I have seen messages get a red flag. But I can't tell you why this happens. It might be something to do with reminders. To get rid of the red flag, while you're in the folder with the red flag message, move to that message in the messages list. Then bring up the home tab of the ribbons and find Tags and then Follow-up dropdown.
