No that would not have worked because the screen was totally blank as if
it was in sleep mode. and nothing I did would get it back again.
usually when I leave my computer it would go to a blank screen which I
think is a screen saver and all I had to do was touch any key and it
would come back again but this time I had to turn everything off and
restart it again.

That happens to me on occasion while using my office laptop. When that
occurs, for some reason, JAWS has stopped or turned off. Often, I just do a
"Windows, M" and press "J" and JAWS. Starts talking. Try that first.

Hi all,
my computer was on this morning and I left it for a few seconds while I went
and did a few things and when i CAME BACK i thought it was in sleep mode but
when I touched a key nothing happened and a sited person said everything was
on but their was no voice and the screen was blank does anyone know what
might have happened because I had to turn it all off by holding the power
button for three seconds and reboot my computer and then everything worked
again.
I am using windows 8.0 Jaws 15 latest
