One small correction:

The path for the sources.xml file is:

C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Bibliography

I forgot to include the Roaming folder name in the path.

Take care.

MS-Word 2013

Hello Jason,

I am not sure of the version of JAWS you are using but I am using JAWS 16
latest build and I can use tab and shift+tab in the Manage Sources dialog
box. You might try using the following shortcut keys for the various
controls in this dialog box:

Alt+N New entry. This will present a dialog where you can pick the type
Alt+of
reference and fill in properties such as title, author, etc.

Alt+S Search box. Gives a search box for searching the master list.

Alt+s followed by tab moves to a combo box for choosing how the list is
sorted. Use up or down arrow key. The top of the list is author. If you
arrow down and JAWS doesn't speak the change in the combo box you can use
Alt+r to move to the master list or Alt+u to move to the current
Alt+document
list to check the sort order being used.

Alt+B browse. Allows you to browse for the source file.

Alt+R Master list.

Alt+u Current document list.

Alt+C copy. You can copy from master list and paste to current list.

CTRL+V Paste

Alt+D to delete a selected entry.

Alt+e for the edit button to edit the selected entry.

Alt to bring up the system menu and choose close to close the box.

Under the reference tab of the ribbon you have the citation and bibliography
group. If you use the citation submenu you can add an individual entry and
it will be added in a citation field. If you tab past the Manage Sources
button you will find the bibliography button. Use spacebar and in the
submenu you can use the bibliography menu item to insert the sources or use
the reference menu item. If you choose the bibliography menu item the
sources will be listed and the list has the word Bibliography as a heading 1
style used. If you choose reference from the submenu then the list will
have the word References at the top of the list and will also use the
heading 1 style.

When in the document you can use f11 to move to fields or shift+f11 to move
to previous fields. Insert f5 will list form fields in the document and
citation and bibliography fields will be included.

The sources.xml file is found in
c:\users\username\AppData\Microsoft\Bibliography

Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Source manager (citations and bibliographies) in
MS-Word 2013

How do I use MS-Word's Source Manager with JAWS? When I select Source
Manager to add a reference, I am presented with a dialog. Using
tab/shift-tab simply says "Source Manager", and arrow keys don't navigate
among the controls or fields. The braille display at least presents the
field names but I haven't succeeded in entering data.

Suggestions?

I normally use LaTeX for this kind of work, which is obviously completely
accessible as it's based entirely on specially marked up text files and
BibTeX files for citations. Of course, LaTeX is my preference, but some
journals or colleagues may require MS-Word format, so it's useful to know
what my bibliography handling options are in this environment.
