Ted, yours is the first email I have seen regarding Silverlight with JAWS.
I was able to work with JAWS 15 and Silverlight with Windows XP, but haven't
been able to get it to work with Windows 7 and JAWS 15. My application is
streaming talkshows from websites. One of the websites I would like to
stream from is www.iowacatholicradio.com. I have installed the current
version of Silverlight, but JAWS says it isn't there. Is it a matter of
having a sighted person install it, or will Silverlight never work in this
situation?

Thanks!

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS and Silverlight

FS, my department, and one of our software contractors have been involved
since last summer on trying to get JFW to work with a Silverlight-based app,
which maintains eligibility data for our cabinet. I can now give you a
preliminary report on that project-at long last it works. The app itself is
a bit overdesigned, and the JAWS cursor doesn't work at present (we hope we
can resolve that), but navigation and data entry are now possible. The
accompanying log file, on the other hand, is not ready for prime time,
suggesting that these and similar apps may have to be tweaked on an
individual basis. Presently, buttons and links are inoperative, but the
JAWS cursor is partially enabled.

I know there are one or two others out there working with this interface,
and any feedback would be welcome. So FS's recent Web comments on
Silverlight have merit. They further deserve credit for the extraordinary
level of personal service required to research and resolve this problem thus
far, even sending a programmer on-sight to see the problem first-hand.
