There is a shortcut
Press CTRL+F4
the tab in which you are will close.

You can use ALT F to open the file menu, then arrow down to "Close Tab".

how can I just exit one tab when in firefox?  when I  am in facebook and I
read a news article then I finish it when I was using IE I just pressed
alt+f4 and I got a window that read do you want to close all tabs or the
current tab   I would just press the right arrow and hit enter to close
the article tab which is the current tab and I would be back in facebook.
how or can I do that in firefox
