Thanks for the suggestion, but someone else already gave me the solution and
it's working back as it should.

I was moving some banking info files of 2014 to a thumb drive, and this was
in a folder for that year. I also created a sub-folder within that main one,
and I guess this is how things got confused as to where files were to be
saved that I created after I had finished with that folder.

But, I am back on track and relieved that some files I had created in Note
Pad weren't gone missing..

Thank you for these steps, they are worth keeping as well.

Trish

Hi Trish,

I am not sure how your default save location got changed, and I have not
used Windows 7 in a while, but try the following:

Press WinKey+E, select Libraries, right click on the Documents folder, and
select Properties. On one of the tabs here, you can include some folders and
Set the default save location , so the Save as dialog box for document files
should show that selected folder. You can do this for pictures, music and
videos as well.

I hope this works for you. As I said, I haven't used Win 7 in quite a while,
and I am going off of my poor, poor memory.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Files saved not going to My Documents

Hello,

I do not know how this has happened, but need to fix it.
Need help to know how to fix it as well please.

I created a note pad text document, it was saved and went to another folder
than that of my documents, so can anyone please tell me how to get it to go
back to my documents when I save something either in note pad or ms word?

I am using win/7, jaws 15.

Thanks for any help!

Trish
