George: I just tried your suggestion, but no joy!
Again, it appears that only part of the text is readable, even after I hit enter on the given text box. And see, if that works for you. I tried using the Jaws cursor, but that didn't improve the reading experience either. Fortunately, in this case, I have a PDF of the document, which actually reads better. However, it does seem to me that the text box reading of Word documents should be performing better than it seems to be doing here. These are from my notes I've saved regarding this topic. This note is for Word 2010: From: Dean Martineau Try ctrl+shift+o to list objects, and press enter on the one you want to focus on. Dean This note is for Word 2003 but, might work with 2010: From: "Brian Lee" < Use CTRL+Shift+O to list objects. Use up or down arrow key in the list of objects in your document and press enter key on the text box you want to read. Try using your arrow keys to read the text. You might need to press the escape key to move out of the text box. You can try to move the object from the drawing to the text layer by using Alt+Shift+C, but quite often that doesn't work. Take care. Brian Lee HTH Take Care. Can someone refresh my memory regarding how to read the text within text boxes in a Word 2010 document? I have done it before, with some difficulty, but can't remember how. I'm using Windows 7 and Jaws 14 here.
