A few other small things to try, which might not make any diffeerence but might be tried for academic interest. Press single-click once on the link. Press SPACEBAR on the link. Route JAWS to PC and then double-click. And finally, which may be the best one: Turn off the virtual cursor with Insert+z and then see if you can acttivate the link when you find it.

No, don't do that. You would want it on. Have you ever heard JAWS say, OnMouseOver? This is a type of link where the mouse hovers over when you're on it, and the JAWS keystroke to activate it is ctrl+Insert+ENTER. The text associated with it appears only when this link is specifically clicked in this way. If there is such text (and there isn't always), after you perform the above keystroke, JAWS will say, "Page changed at line xx" where xx is the line number on the page.) So try that keystroke on the problem link.

Did you turn off JAWS's speaking of OnMouseOver elements/links?

Thanks for reply. I don't think an information bar appears, and alt + n did not bring it on. My sighted friend says when she move the mouse cursor over
the graphic a list appears, and when the cursor goes off the graphic the
list disappears. I used the term drop box incorrectly, but it definitely is
not a combo box and alt+ down arrow does not bring it on. Jaws does say
only the number of the graphic, certainly not a list of links. I also tried
insert + f3, and clicked on graphics and then the specific graphic, but
nothing happened. Appreciate any other thoughts.

John,

If it's the Infomation Bar, more about that in a moment.

Does JAWS say 'link' when on the title's graphic? Sometimes ctrl and spacebar can open a menu undefined by JAWS or a 'box'. There is already a separate site called Dropbox, so it's best to avoid loose terms like that one. My first thought was of a combo box, which you would open with alt+DownArrow.

Also, pres alt-n to bring up the Information Bar (probably that could be it). Then Allow once or Allow Always, depending on your choice, which you press space then may arrow to. Then you might enter or double-click to confirm.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] drop boxes

Hi list. I was trying to download an audio book from a website and could not find a download link. A sighted friend said that when she moved the cursor to a graphic of the title a drop box appeared with a number of options including a download link. I have tried both the Jaws cursor and Pc cursor but cannot access this. There is no shortcut key ie "d" to use, and the links list does not include the dropbox. I am using JFW13 and Win7, and have tried both IE 10 and latest firefox with no success. Can anyone suggest any solutions. Thanks in advance.
