Let FS know, probably the more they hear on this the quicker
they may fix.

Hi.
On my system, Jaws 15 will still read the number of messages
when navigating through the favorite folders list.
Jaws 16 won't.

Jaws up until JFW 15 at least for me would speak the number
of unread emails in a folder just by arrowing to it. This
was a very efficient means to cycle through folders
especially when running multiple email accounts and inboxes.
All these other commands (control+y or insert+pagedown)
while able to access the same information, but in a
different way, they are no means as efficient. Moreso when
you have to interact in a time sensitive manner via email
all day.
FS has acknowledged this bug, but don’t' seem to be in any
hurry to fix it.

I press the jaws key and the page down key. It works for me.

Phil.
I have the same set up.
Try turning on the jaws cursor then hold down the
control key and hit
the end button. You might have to hit control home and then
hit the control end.
It will give you the total number in the folder and then
tell you the number of unread.
You have to listen carefully because it will give you the
total number and
then say unread immediately which makes it sound kind of
like 54unread 5

Instead of saying 55 5 unread
 Hope that makes sence
You can also use these key strokes while it is loading new
messages. It will give you the progress HTH -----Original

Subject: [JAWS-Users] jaws 16 not reading number of unread
messages

Hi.

On my system running windows 7 64-bit, and office 2010, Jaws
16 will not indicate the number of unread messages in
outlook 2010 when moving down the list of folders in the
favorites view.

It does work if I use the go to folder keystroke (ctrl+y).

Jaws 15 does not have this problem, it does indicate the
number of unread messages in favorites view.

Is this a known bug in Jaws 16?

Thanks

Phil
