No, mine is supposed to sync and I have to fuss with the account setting box to tell it yes before it will open, then it does the sync.

I did update it a while back. Now when I plug in my phone ITunes is not automatically launched. The phone does produce the charging tones when I plug it in, indicating that the usb port and cable are working ok. I also tried it in another usb port.
