The path to be typed into the run dialogue is sfc /scannow. There is a space
between sfc and /scannow.

well then, I don't know because that is the path/filename that is displayed
when the scan finishes. my nephew helped me with a scan and told me where
the log is located. maybe someone else has a suggestion.

I ran the error scan: "sfc /scannow" . I did not get a status report at the
completion of the scan however. Might it have created a log somewhere? Tom
