Bonnie,

I tried that and it still did not move. When I tabbed down, there was a
message indicating it was still searching.

Michelle,
I recently switched to Office 2013 and I was having terrible problems doing
searches in Outlook. I was told to use F3 for searching and I have found
that it works well in almost all instances. It definitely works better in
Outlook than anything else I've tried. Well, that is if I'm searching for a
particular email. Within an email I use Insert, Control, F.

That's a pity abut the soundcard, there not being a stereo mixer (or
equivalent).

I'm beginning to think that it might be best to have individual voices per
app, different synths even, since the present owners Nuance are no longer
developing Eloquence. To that purpose, Vocalizer Expressive voices in JAWS16

are more responsive than they were before.

Try pressing Escape from within the Ribbon, or maybe press F6 again until
you are back in the document.

F6 is not working, rather it is landing the cursor in ribbon menu.

there a way, in the accounts tab, to bring up the list of wlm clients, and

In the window that lists all of your email accounts, make sure the one that
you want to delete reads "Closed", and then open the context menu and click
on "Remove Account".

I used to know how to do this but when I went looking for the place to do it
it was no longer there. Evidently somewhere along the line this process was
changed during a Windows update. I went to the menu and clicked on help and
when prompted typed "delete account" and pressed enter and got an
explanation of how to accomplish it. Tom

You should be able to see them in a list, highlight them by arrowing to the
account you want to delete, tab until you here remove and press enter

or does it matter ?
I have been using the windows update icon in control panel.
I am using windows 8.1 on a 64 bit machine and jaws 15 .

email accounts is easy indeed. Just right-click on the account name and

Kevin,

After opening Vipre, tab down to the "My Vipre Navigation" and press enter
on this. Now tab on down to "Manage Scheduled Scans". Next, tab down to
either the Quick or Deep scan tab, and press the space bar on the one that
you want to schedule. Here, it gets a little tricky, but go ahead and tab
down further, and do not pay attention to what is checked, and what is not.
You are going to hear that the Quick scan is checked, but you are actually
going to schedule the Deep scan if that is what you select to do. Next, you
will come to the area where you can set the hour of the start time for the
scan, so just left or right arrow to set the hour to where you want it. Now,

just tab down to set the minutes, they will be displayed in 5 minute
intervals, then repeat the same action to set the time to AM or PM. OK, now
tab down a couple of times and check the boxes for which days of the week
you want the scan to run on. Lastly, tab down and select the Done button,
and tab back around to schedule the Quick scans if you want them.

Now, Vipre by default checks for new threat definitions every 30 minutes,
but if you want to manually check for these, tab to the Manage tab and press

enter on this. Next tab down twice, and you should find the Updates tab, and

you can tab down from here to find the "Update definitions" item, and
options to update Vipre software patches, and Vipre software updates. Note,
if at any time you cannot find a particular item, try arrowing left or right

to find it.

As far as I can find, the function keys are not used for anything in this
version of Vipre, although I have not tried all key combinations. I think
this should get you up and running with it however, and if you have more
questions, I am heere. Also, see the help search box and the users manual
under the Account tab.

If you are using WLM2009, the account list can be found by going to Tools
and clicking on Accounts. If you are using WLM 2011, I am not sure where you

can find this option, but I know it is easy again. If you are using IMAP
accounts, you don't even need to go to accounts list. Just go to folders
list and find the account name. Then right-click and remove it.

Tom,

The account view is where you are when you first open WLM. You might be
inside of your inbox, but if you shift tab, then press the left a rrow key
to close the account, then that is the account view. From here, when you
are focused on the name of the account that you want to delete, just right
click and press enter on Remove Account.

Agreed, WLM is the email client. You cannot remove clients from within the
program because there aren't any. Only separate accounts.

Hi list, I have googled for the answer to my questions, but not been
able to carry out the instructions with Jaws 16. I mainly use I.E when
searching the web etc. However, my university prefers us to use
Mozilla for their webbased material etc. I am trying to delete some
bookmarks I have made using Mozilla. However, I have not been able to
do it. I would also like to know, how to be able to create folders
within both IE and Mozilla. And how to use Jaws16 to move either
bookmarks or favourites into folders within their corresponding
browser. Like I said, I have tried following google instructions, but
I haven't been able to get them to work.
Thanks Jason

understood now. over a year ago, I asked this same question, saying "email
addresses", and I got many replies saying that I must mean cliets, because I

could only have 1 email address on wlm, which knew was wrong. there are a
lot of us out here that are not that computer literate, and don't always ask

the question correctly, or understand the replies that come in. I normally
mail directly to the replier, at their email address, but with some folks
letting me know that I put in the wrong word, I felt like this mail needed
to go out, even if it gets me lifted from the list

I may be confused, but here's how I understand it. I get my enternet service
from my cable company, Time Warner Cable. They give me an email account
which I set up with my email program , which in my case is outlook. And so
that makes my email program, outlook and , my cable company, my email
client. That's correct, right?

I tried to follow your instructions but when I opened WLM and found myself
in my inbox, I pressed shift tab and the left arrow that took me to the
email paine where I found inbox, outbox, drafs etc. So I don't understand
your instruction, to open WLM and then shift tab, then press the left a rrow

instructions that I don't seem to understand is, press the left a rrow key.
Could you clarify that for me. Thank you.

Tom,

The account view is where you are when you first open WLM. You might be
inside of your inbox, but if you shift tab, then press the left a rrow key
to close the account, then that is the account view. From here, when you
are focused on the name of the account that you want to delete, just right
click and press enter on Remove Account.

What do you mean by "Email Clients"? Do you mean email accounts? Deleting
email accounts is easy indeed. Just right-click on the account name and
press Remove Account.

if you are talking about reverting from versions of antivirus all that is
needed to do is uninstall it and install a lower version. if that was not
your question I don't understand you!

Agreed, WLM is the email client. You cannot remove clients from within the
program because there aren't any. Only separate accounts.

Your client or program is outlook. Your provider is your cable company. Your

account is the information you filled out with the server information, your
username & password.

I may be confused, but here's how I understand it. I get my enternet service
from my cable company, Time Warner Cable. They give me an email account
which I set up with my email program , which in my case is outlook. And so
that makes my email program, outlook and , my cable company, my email
client. That's correct, right?

removing an account from Windows Live Mail.
1. ALT+f, arrow down to options sub menu, press the right arrow.
2. Arrow down to email accounts... and press enter.
3. Up and down arrow till you hear the account you wish to remove.
4. tab to remove and press enter.
5. Tab to the close button, you are finished.

Tom,

The account view is where you are when you first open WLM. You might be
inside of your inbox, but if you shift tab, then press the left a rrow key
to close the account, then that is the account view. From here, when you
are focused on the name of the account that you want to delete, just right
click and press enter on Remove Account.

LeDon,

OK, your email program is the client, and the address is the account that
you have set up in the client or program. Simple. Now, to delete an account
from within your email client, Windows Live Mail in this case, open the
email program, and navigate to the list of accounts, usually the screen to
which it opens to, that has all of your accounts listed. Highlight the
account name that you want to delete. Either press the applications key
beside the Control key on the right side of the space bar, or press and hold

the shift key, and tap the F10 key. This will open the context menu,
sometimes called the applications menu. Arrow down 2 or 3 times until you
find "Remove Account", and press enter on this. You will most likely be
prompted to verify that you do or do not want to delete the account, and if
you do, then respond accordingly. I hope this is understandable to anyone
who needs it, but if not, ask again, and I will gladly try another way of
explaining it for you.

Mike,

I tried to follow your instructions but when I opened WLM and found myself
in my inbox, I pressed shift tab and the left arrow that took me to the
email paine where I found inbox, outbox, drafs etc. So I don't understand
your instruction, to open WLM and then shift tab, then press the left a rrow

key to close the account, then that is the account view. The part of your
instructions that I don't seem to understand is, press the left a rrow key.

Nobody is lifting you from the list, so don't be so defensive. The only
thing we're trying to do is explain the proper terminology and that is quite
all.

We were all at the point sometime in our collective past where all of this
fancy wording was new and somewhat overwhelming. I remember thinking 25
years ago that this is my life now, a constant string of acronyms.

understood now. over a year ago, I asked this same question, saying "email
addresses", and I got many replies saying that I must mean cliets, because I
could only have 1 email address on wlm, which knew was wrong. there are a
lot of us out here that are not that computer literate, and don't always ask
the question correctly, or understand the replies that come in. I normally
mail directly to the replier, at their email address, but with some folks
letting me know that I put in the wrong word, I felt like this mail needed
to go out, even if it gets me lifted from the list

Agreed, WLM is the email client. You cannot remove clients from within the
program because there aren't any. Only separate accounts.

'Clients' in this instance would mean programs or apps. An email client is
an email program.

Hi I will write this carefully for you to follow.

First open alt B and then sit on the book mark of sight you want to delete
and then open the application key and down arrow and find delete and hit
enter and close the menu and you can re open and it should be gone.

Hope this helps and good luck Louise and Princess Kiara

Hi list, I have googled for the answer to my questions, but not been able to
carry out the instructions with Jaws 16. I mainly use I.E when searching the
web etc. However, my university prefers us to use Mozilla for their webbased
material etc. I am trying to delete some bookmarks I have made using
Mozilla. However, I have not been able to do it. I would also like to know,
how to be able to create folders within both IE and Mozilla. And how to use
Jaws16 to move either bookmarks or favourites into folders within their
corresponding browser. Like I said, I have tried following google
instructions, but I haven't been able to get them to work.
Thanks Jason

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

There seems to be a lot of confusion concerning e-mail terminology , so
perhaps the following will help.
Depending on the situation, using the correct terminology can be the
difference between a lot of talk, and an actual solution to your problem.

E-mail Client:
A program that allows you to download and manage messages from an e-mail
server.
An e-mail client is typically installed on your PC.
Here are some of the most widely used e-mail clients:
Microsoft Outlook Express (also referred to as OE)
Microsoft Outlook (most generally referred to as Outlook)
Windows Mail (also referred to as WM)
Windows Live Mail (also referred to as WLM)
Mozilla Thunderbird (generally referred to as Thunderbird)
Eudora

There are clients in this list that are similar in name, but are entirely
different, and it is important not to confuse them,
for example, Outlook, and Outlook Express are both Microsoft products, but
are not the same
Likewise, Windows Mail, and Windows Live Mail, are again, both Microsoft
products, but are not the same,
so it is important when asking for help, to make sure which client you are
using, because keyboard commands and navigation will vary.

Note:
While on the topic of e-mail clients, this is very important to remember:
The last supported version of Outlook Express was 6.0, which came installed
on Windows XP systems.
The last supported version of Windows Mail came installed on Windows Vista
systems.
Although registry tweaks etc, have made it possible to use these clients on
more recent versions of Windows,
it must be understood that Microsoft does not support the modified versions
with any type of tech support, or security updates.
You use them at your own risk!

E-mail Server:
Typically, the program and associated hardware that your ISP (Internet
Service Provider), uses to
manage e-mail for their customers.
Your ISP is the company that provides your internet service, such as A T&T,

Time-Warner Cable ( also referred to as TWC),Verizon etc.

Identities:
These are found in Outlook Express, and by other names in some other
clients, such as Personalities in Eudora.
You can have multiple Identities in Outlook Express, and each Identity can
contain multiple accounts.

Accounts:
These are simply your e-mail settings from whatever provider you are using
for e-mail, such as Hotmail, GMail or your ISP etc.
Atypical account is your e-mail address and it's associated settings.

You can have multiple accounts in most e-mail clients, which simply means
that you would use 1 client to receive e-mail coming to multiple addresses.

Here is an example of multiple Identities and multiple accounts in Outlook
Express, as I have them
setup on one of my machines.
I have an Identity which I have named "Jaws-Users", and one named "Rick".
Within the Jaws-users Identity, I have 2 accounts, , 1 for each e-mail
address, that I have for list management reasons.
In the "Rick" Identity, I have only 1 account, which is my personal e-mail
address.

I use this method for sorting purposes, and it is strictly a personal
preference.

More terminology and definitions can be found at:

http://www.jaws-users.com/text/MISC/ComputerTerms.html

The terms on this site, were made available thru the courtesy of David
Ferrin
I would encourage people to familiarize themselves with the Help topics that

come with most programs, as well as the Jaws Help topics.
You really can learn a lot of useful information by doing some reading, and
asking questions.

HTH,
Rick Justice
