Kim, when Jaws goes silent, try one of two things: 1. Restart Jaws with Insert-WindowsKey+F4 (takes a little time) 2. Press WindowsKey+U; close the window that had opened, after Jaws begins talking.

During remote sessions using VPN, jaws 16 frequently goes absolutely silent for minutes at a time. Occasionally speech will return if I wait long enough, but often I have to reboot the computer before I am able to regain speech. This same behavior would sometimes occur with older versions of jaws (prior to jaws 15), but then it seemed to be fixed. I work from home several days a week, signed on to my desktop at work and these frequent silences are very disruptive, not to mention the reboots. Has anyone else seen this behavior with jaws 16? I intended to report it to FS, but I'm not sure even how to explain it since it seems to happen randomly without regard to what application I may be using at the time.
