Hi Kimber,

If you have a shortcut icon on the desktop or in the start menu, highlight
it & press, Alt + Enter, to open the properties.

On the shortcut page you will Target....

If it says, "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

>From what I've read, this means that you are running the 64 bit version but,
I also read that the 64 bit version uses both 32 & 64 bit files depending on
the website & other factors, the way I understood it anyways.

In the IE shortcut properties if it says, "C:\Program Files X86\Internet
Explorer\iexplore.exe", this means you are running the 32 bit version.

I am running Windows7 Pro 64 bit, IE11 64 bit, I'm pretty sure LOL, & I have
both 32 & 64 bit IE in Task manager / Processes.

iexplore.exe Mike 00 6,608 K

iexplore.exe *32 Mike 00 36,224 K

I also have Internet Explorer folders in both Program Files & Program
Files X86 on the the root of the C drive. Confusing?! LOL LOL

The search string I used was:
Finding out if I am running 32 or 64 bit Internet Explorer

Use the above search string & see what you come up with. It'll make your
ears spin! LOL LOL

It's kind of early but, after reading all that stuff my iBarstool is
sounding quite good! LOL LOL
Take care.
Mike

Subject: [JAWS-Users] How to tell if I have 32 or 64 byt internet
explorerrunning

Good morning all,

Sorry for the off-topic question, but I know someone here will know the
answer.

I recently got a new computer. It's a windows 7 machine, and IE 11 is
running extremely slow and sluggish, much slower than on my previous
machine using the same internet connection. A little googling
suggested that I may be running a 32 byt version of IE instead of the
64 byt version, but I don't know how to determine which version I
have.

Can somebody give me instructions?

Thanks so much! I really need to fix this problem. It's driving me crazy!

Kimber
